STRESS

Stress

It is a commonly held belief that the stress we experience in our bodies leads to many physical illnesses. Even at its least toxic, stress can lead to a quality of life we do not want.

Stress is created as we expend energy to counteract gravity and overcome inertia. When Herbert Benson studied stress, he coined the words "eustress" to stand for benign energy and "distress" to signify the quality of psychic energy that is toxic. Distress is what we usually mean when we say we are stressed.

The management of distress takes many forms, some healthy and some creating more problems with which to deal. We can develop a program that helps you manage the relationships or events that cause you distress.
